Which 3-manifold Groups Are Kähler Groups?
The question in the title, first raised by Goldman and Donaldson, was partially answered by Reznikov. We give a complete answer, as follows: if G is both a (closed) 3-manifold group and a Kähler group, then G must be finite.
متن کاملRESIDUALLY FINITE RATIONALLY p GROUPS
In this article we develop the theory of residually finite rationally p (RFRp) groups, where p is a prime. We first prove a series of results about the structure of finitely generated RFRp groups (either for a single prime p, or for infinitely many primes), including torsion-freeness, a Tits alternative, and a restriction on the BNS invariant. Furthermore, we show that many groups which occur n...
متن کاملCoxeter groups are virtually special
In this paper we prove that every finitely generated Coxeter group has a finite index subgroup that is the fundamental group of a special cube complex. Some consequences include: Every f.g. Coxeter group is virtually a subgroup of a right-angled Coxeter group. Every word-hyperbolic Coxeter group has separable quasiconvex subgroups. © 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. متن کاملFc–groups All of Whose Factor Groups Are Residually Finite
In this paper we study some locally soluble FC-groups G all of whose factor-groups G/N are residually finite.
متن کاملGreen Correspondence for Virtually Pro-p Groups∗
Let p be a prime number, G a finite group, Q a p-subgroup of G and L any subgroup of G containing the normalizer NG(Q) of Q in G. Let k be a field of positive characteristic p. In [2] J.A. Green demonstrates a fundamental correspondence between finitely generated kG-modules with vertex Q and finitely generated kL-modules with vertex Q. When L = NG(Q) the Green correspondence allows for the redu...
